When something stressful happens or arrives in your brain (again) consider using the 5 A's:
Acknowledge consciously and deliberately that the thing or situation is happening.
Accept it just as it is without the strong urge to label or change it. It isn't good or bad - it just is.
Appreciate the people, animals, plants, and the health you do have in your life at this present moment.
Quickly, but gently, appraise the key areas of your life - physical & psychological health, partner if you have one, children if you have them, job if you have one, career, default mood, income, parenting style, family dynamics, leisure time and creativity outlets. For starters mark each of these areas out of 10 to get an overarching feel for your current life.
Now take action on the thing or situation that is currently on your radar from a position of grace and calmness. Taking any action now is way more important than waiting for the perfect time to unleash lots of action. Start NOW and build as you go. The ideal time to change never fully arrives, so just start with what you have right now.
