Empowering high-performers to find inner calm and resilience via a unique blend of Western psychology and Eastern philosophy
Whether you are leading a corporation, recovering from a life-altering illness, or seeking to heal a family bond, the goal is the same: to move from the chaos of the "current" to the clarity of the Riverbank.
For individuals ready for meaningful, lasting change.
Deep-dive 1:1 sessions (online or in-person) designed to help you explore your internal psychology, break old patterns, and build a legacy based on authenticity. This is where you meet yourself honestly and begin again from solid ground.
For fathers and daughters looking to bridge the gap and build resilience.
A specialised 1:1 coaching program, run by Cliff and his psychologist daughter Beth, focusing on the most underestimated relationship in a woman’s life. We work on emotional attunement, repairing trust, and establishing healthy boundaries. Based on the 'Riverbank' framework, I help fathers move from 'Fixer' to 'Guide', and daughters build the self-worth they need to thrive in the world.
For organisations seeking disciplined focus and authentic leadership.
I provide straight-to-the-point insights for high-pressure environments. Available for in-person seminars or global webinars, my talks focus on:
For those who need to step away to move forward.
Guided, immersive experiences in a controlled environment. These retreats offer a 'pattern interrupt' - a chance to step out of your daily life for a deep, psychological reset and guided transformation.
Self-paced growth for the modern world.
Interactive courses built around my two core frameworks:
You aren't just getting a coach; you are gaining access to 30+ years of clinical and business experience. I don't do 'fluff'. I provide professional, friendly, and direct psychological insights that work in the real world.
"If you are in transition or seeking clarity, I offer a space where you can meet yourself honestly - and start again from a position of strength."

Cliff Arnall - a psychologist and lifelong explorer of what it means to truly live well
With over 35 years professional experience helping individuals and organisations build lives of greater peace, authenticity, and resilience.
At age 30, I discovered I was half Indian. This opened a deep personal and spiritual doorway, leading me to integrate Eastern philosophies into my Western training. Today, that blend forms the heart of everything I teach.
From playing basketball in the US and Europe and earning my international pilot’s licence, to surviving two emergency open-heart surgeries less than 10 years ago, my life has taught me that healing - mental and physical - is not just about surviving. It’s about becoming whole again and really living!
I created The Riverbank®, a unique psychological model, that supports people in navigating the inner landscape of their thoughts, emotions, and behaviours - especially when facing adversity, change, or illness. I also founded the IllnessToStillness® program to help others use inner stillness and calmness as a pathway to deep healing.
My Work: Psychology that Heals from the Inside Out
I help individuals and organisations explore the connection between what they think, how they perceive, and how they behave - so they can feel better, think clearer, and live more fully.
My approach integrates:
Out of this integration, I created The Riverbank® - a unique psychological model that helps people step out of the flood of overthinking, stress, and struggle, and onto solid inner ground. A place where healing and true freedom becomes possible.
I also founded IllnessToStillness®, a transformational approach for those living with or recovering from physical illness, drawing on the mind-body connection to support recovery and personal peace.
My clients are:
Many of my clients are high-functioning, high-performing, and creative. They want more than just coping strategies - they want real, lasting change.
If something in my story or approach speaks to you, I invite you to get in touch. You’re welcome to explore my work further, book a consultation, or join one of my upcoming programs.
You’ve been carried by the current long enough. Come and stand with me, and thousands of others, on the riverbank.
“Stillness is not the absence of movement. It is the presence of peace.”

Stress Management
"[About a personal situation] ...at first, my legs wobbled but not half as long as I would usually and I was able to let it go and "float on by" quite quickly. I had a difficult situation in work and initially I became defensive and I worried but again it was so nice the idea of it just floating on by and it worked."
Anna, 52, UK
Most people are operating in the river - distracted, reactive, mentally overloaded, and quietly exhausted.
These courses are designed to help individuals and organisations step onto the riverbank - where thinking sharpens, emotions stabilise, and performance becomes deliberate, not reactive.
This is not generic wellbeing.
This is practical psychological repositioning.
Most workplace “mental health” support focuses on coping.
This course goes further.
It develops psychological strength - the ability to remain clear, composed, and effective even when pressure increases. Participants learn how anxiety operates, how the mind creates unnecessary stress, and how to step out of it.
The result is not just wellbeing - but greater clarity, confidence, and consistency in performance.
Stress is not the problem. Mismanaged stress is.
This course clearly separates destructive stress (the river) from useful pressure (focused performance). Participants learn how to recognise when they are being pulled into overwhelm and how to regain control quickly.
The outcome is a more measured, resilient, and focused response to demanding situations - without burnout or mental fatigue.
Poor sleep doesn’t just affect energy - it keeps people trapped in mental noise.
This course provides practical, evidence-based strategiesto improve sleep quality, regulate thinking patterns, and support deeper recovery. Participants learn how stress, rumination, and lifestyle patterns disrupt sleep - and how to correct them.
Better sleep leads directly to clearer thinking, improved mood, and stronger daily performance.
Most people are not thinking clearly - they are thinking constantly.
This course teaches participants how to step out of automatic thought patterns and into present-moment awareness. It reframes mindfulness as a practical tool for clarity, not a vague concept.
The result is greater focus, reduced reactivity, and the ability to operate with calm precision rather than distraction and mental clutter.
Mental health issues rarely appear suddenly - they build gradually and go unnoticed.
This course equips participants to identify early psychological warning signs in themselves and others, including anxiety, depression, and potential crisis indicators.
It also develops the confidence to respond appropriately, creating a workplace culture that is not only aware - but proactively supportive, responsible, and psychologically informed.place.
Uncontrolled emotion is one of the fastest ways to damage trust, communication, and performance.
This course teaches participants how to recognise emotional escalation early, understand what drives it, and regain control before reactions take over.
The focus is not suppression - but measured, intentional response. Participants leave with the ability to stay composed, communicate clearly, and handle pressure without unnecessary conflict.
Most workplace conflict is not about the issue - it is about perception, ego, and miscommunication.
This course develops practical conflict resolution skillsthat allow participants to de-escalate tension, manage difficult conversations, and reach constructive outcomes.
The emphasis is on clarity, listening, and psychological awareness - resulting in stronger relationships, better teamwork, and more productive collaboration across teams.
Trauma significantly alters how people think, feel, and respond - often in ways that are misunderstood.
This course provides a clear, practical understanding of trauma responses and PTSD, including triggers, behavioural patterns, and emotional impact.
Participants learn how to recognise these patterns and respond appropriately, creating environments that are safer, more informed, and more supportive for both individuals and teams.
Change creates instability because it pulls people back into the river.
This course helps participants develop the ability to stay steady and focused during uncertainty, rather than becoming reactive or overwhelmed.
They learn how to manage internal responses to change, maintain clarity, and adapt effectively - leading to greater confidence, resilience, and performance in unpredictable environments.
Most training adds more information.
This work removes confusion.
It helps people think clearly again.
The Outcome
Less time in the river.
More time on the riverbank.
