Are you in the river?
You complain
You deep down feel dissatisfied with your life
You love being right
You feel like an imposter or fraud
You regret the past (and probably fear the future)
You wish you were more confident - hence you live life according to other peoples’ agendas and priorities rather than your own
You compare up not down
You actively, though unconsciously, engage in drama – by blaming others, the economy, the weather; by gossiping; by insisting on having way too much control; arguing over small petit things
You have a history of self-sabotage
You eat crap food
You believe failure is a crime
You play the victim because you believe your life isn’t fair
You give a shit what other people think of you (outside of a small close number of trusted individuals)
You numb your feelings with alcohol, painkillers or other drugs
You find small talk easy and are quick to fill gaps in conversations

The river lets you live a fake life (even if you don’t realise it yet). It creates powerful illusions which take you further away from who you truly are.
The river offers no solutions when you feel stressed, guilty, lost, at a dead end or angry. It gives you a false safety in familiarity and a certain acceptance from everyone else who resides in the river. But the only real things on offer in the river are more stress and lots of ultimately pointless drama that wastes your precious commodity - time.
